Focus groups are a great way to sample the small group experience.  These groups are short term and focus on the study of a book or other pre-planned topic.  Focus group registration happens twice per year in the fall and again in the spring.   SIGN UP AT THE CONNECTING HUB OR CLICK HERE TO EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST

Financial Peace University (FPU)
*Meets Mondays for 13 weeks, beginning September 22 at 7:00 pm
Kevin and Jeanine Schallmo will facilitate this group
This class is designed to teach you and your family how to get out of debt, stay out of debt, and build wealth.  You'll meet with your class each week to watch the video lesson and participate in discussion and accountability groups that will change your whole attitude about money!  Dave Ramsey breaks through the common financial jargon and explains how money really works in a simple, easy-to-understand style.  You'll actually have fun as you learn about saving, budgeting, investing, insurance and more!

Forum for Supervisors in the Work Place
*Meets Sundays for 6 weeks, beginning September 21, 6:00-7:30 pm
Jack Nagle and Pastor Pat Peglow will facilitate this group
This class is an opportunity to get together with others like yourself who have higher leadership roles, or supervise people in the work place, and share wisdom, experiences, struggles, joys, and success.  You will be building relationships with people who find themselves in a very similar situation as your own.  We will seek to help one another grow in our role as leaders and to bridge the gap in our leadership between our Christian beliefs and the beliefs of modern day society.  Those in these positions share many of the same struggles, even though the kind of work they do may differ.  Our hope is that as iron sharpens iron, we may be able to sharpen one another as leaders in our areas of influence.

Healthy Emotional Spirituality
*Group 1 - Meets every other Monday for 10 weeks, beginning Sept 22
Cindy Strote will lead this group (for women) in Palos Park
God's desire is to sanctify us entirely - body, soul and spirit.  While many of us are focusing upon our spiritual wellbeing, we still remain emotionally immature.  Our spiritual growth is affected, as well as, our personal freedom and joy and our relationships with others.  This group will be a catalyst and a beginning point in opening up our emotional life to God's healing and growth.  From a biblical perspective, we will take a look at two important parts of having a healthy emotional spirituality.  First, we will learn to recognize, identify and express our emotions, how our past impacts our present, and how to break from self-destructive patterns.  Second, we will learn how to use spiritual practices like silence, solitude, meditation on Scripture, prayer and rest to get us in tune with God's inexhaustible love and grace to heal us.  (This is the same material that was taught as an Elect Class in the Spring).
